Back in 1995 I started to become more conscious and serious about drawing. I taught myself basic comic-book anatomy by copying great artists. I tried to have in mind how they started to create the image, from stick figures, rough lines to the finished pencils.
At that time someone told me to start inking my drawings. I was told to use really thin rapidograph, in my opinion the worst inking tool for artists. Generally, inkers use markers, brushes, inks and pens... never rapidographs. Those just tend to mess the paper. So even though my pencil line-work was ok, the inking process destroyed the finished drawing.
This album contains "studies" of artists like:
Derrick Robertson, Jeff Scott Campbell, Joe Madureira, the great Mike Turner, Jim Lee, Carlos Pacheco, Todd Todd McFarlane, Mark Bagley, Adam Kubert, Andy Kubert, Criss-Cross, Adam Hughes, Tim Sale, Chris Bachalo, and many more!
All these images where done between 1995 and 2001
